About us

Ryedale Leisure Club was formed in 1995 and is open to all Adults with Learning Disabilities, living within the geographical area of Ryedale, North Yorkshire. We are a Registered Charity No. 1098945 Modelled on a Mencap constitution, the Club is organised by an Executive Committee which is elected at the Annual General Meeting under the supervision of an experienced Club Leader. Together with the Club Leader, the Executive Committee meet at quarterly intervals throughout the year to organise a varied programme of events and outings with weekly popular Indoor Games and Story Reading as regular occurrences.

Annually there are Theatre Visits, Musical Concerts, Indoor Games Competitions, Disco Evenings, Barbecues and special Birthday Parties. Members are always encouraged to suggest items for inclusion in the weekly club nights.

The costs of running the club are met from Fundraising Events whilst offers of sponsorship/ donations for our cause are most encouraging and welcome, particularly in the present economic climate.

A dedicated team of volunteers assist the Club Leader and involve themselves with all aspects of the weekly club nights.

New volunteers would be most welcome.

Being a volunteer at Ryedale Leisure Club is a most rewarding way of spending two hours every Tuesday evening and you can be assured of your services being greatly appreciated by the membership.
